With all bedrooms having their own ensuites, private garden with outside furniture to sit and enjoy the spectacular views and French doors from both the lounge and dining areas which open onto the Esk Valley and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway in the bottom of the valley.

Decorated in Farrow & Ball colours and beautifully furnished The Piggery is an oasis of stylish comfort for you to return to after your enjoyable excursions whether you have enjoyed a trip on the steam railway, taken an energetic hike across the dramatic moors, wandered around the cobbled streets of Whitby or walked along the beach in the pretty village of Sandsend.

Nestling on the south side of the River Esk with breathtaking views over the glorious Esk Valley and North Yorkshire Moors yet just a short drive to long, golden sandy beaches and the historic sea port of Whitby, our properties have been sympathetically built of locally sourced stone and designed to offer exceptional contemporary open plan living that makes the most of their delightful location. The surrounding area offers a wealth of attractions including the North Yorkshire Moors steam railway, medieval York, Whitby with it’s cobbled streets and numerous restaurants, horse-riding over the Moors, and of course the famous village of Aidensfield where Heartbeat was filmed. There are dozens of beautiful strolls from the cottage doortsep, OS maps and walks provided, whether in the National Park, over moorland, up to waterfalls or along golden sandy beaches you will never be disappointed.

The area is safe and peaceful. Just along the road is a traditional pub with a warm welcome, cask ales, hearty local food and a roaring log fire on cold days with doggies made welcome too, or if you want to use your culinary skills at home and try the bespoke butchers and deli, Radfords in the village. You won’t be disappointed.

Accommodation:

Three bedrooms: 1 x ground floor double with ensuite with spa bath, basin & toilet and flat screen TV. On 1st floor 2 x doubles with ensuite with shower, basin & toilet. Entrance Hall with laundry and WC. Well-equipped fitted kitchen with an ice making american fridge freezer, dishwasher, oven, microwave and dining area & French doors leading onto balcony. The lounge has enticing sofas and comfortable chairs with snuggly cushions and captivating views from the patio windows over the valley.
