Ewelands House has been sympathetically built of locally sourced stone and designed to offer exceptional contemporary open plan living that makes the most of their delightful location.

Ewelands House has 3 bedrooms and is an ideal place for friends and families to escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The spacious open plan living, cooking and eating area makes a wonderful relaxing social room, two bedrooms and a shower room with toilet are on the first floor with a luxurious en-suite master bedroom on the top floor, with a large freestanding bath boutiquely located in the bedroom in front of the window with views towards Whitby Abbey.

Decorated in Farrow & Ball colours and beautifully furnished Ewelands House is an oasis of stylish comfort for you to return to after your enjoyable excursions whether you have enjoyed a trip on the railway, taken an energetic hike across the dramatic moors, wandered around the cobbled streets of Whitby or walked along the beach in the pretty coastal village of Sandsend.

Designed for relaxed sociable living the comfortable open plan area has a fully equipped kitchen, an oak dining table, sumptious settees, armchairs and cosy log burning stove. Entertainment is provided by High Def TV with sky+ HD, iPod dock, ceiling surround sound and a library of books, CD’s, DVDs and Blu-ray discs. Patio doors lead onto a large private glazed balcony with furniture, built-in barbecue and breathtaking views of the valley and steam trains.

A fully equipped fitted kitchen with separate fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, oven and hob and a full range of cooking utensils will make preparing your supper a pleasure. If the weather is kind you can enjoy your meal while relaxing on the balcony, if not, there is a log burning stove to keep you cosy inside.

You can sample local produce such as delicious cake from Bothams’, freshly caught seafood or locally smoked fish from Whitby or the freshly baked bread and locally sourced meat from the Sleights village bakery and butcher.

If you want to make the most of your escape to the country and let someone else take the strain of food foraging and preparation there are many excellent foodie hotspots in the local area from simple fish and chips at the famous Magpie Café through award winning bistro food or fine dining at Green’s of Whitby to the Michelin starred Star at Harome.

First Floor Bedrooms:

The two comfortable bedrooms, one double and one twin bedded share a large stylish shower room with rainwater shower, sink and toilet.

Luxury en-suite Bedroom:

On the top floor the luxury bedroom boasts a boutique freestanding bath and separate shower room with sink and toilet.

Note: With soundproofed interconnecting doors Ewelands House and Ewelands Retreat can be booked together to provide accommodation for 8 guests. Extra seating and a dining table extension leaf is available on request.
